ARBEQUİNA

İspanya’nın Kuzeydoğu bölgesi olan Katalonya’da yetiştirilir. Kendine özgü hoş kokusunun yanında kuvvetli meyve tadı ve hafif elma yeşil ot kokusu hissedilir. Salkım biçiminde bol ve küçük tanelidir.



İspanya’nın dışında Arjantin ve Şili’de yetiştirilmektedir. Ağaç orta büyüklükte ve salkım görünümündedir. Yaprakları elips mızrak biçiminde ve parlak koyu yeşil renktedir. Ağacın tacı ortalama büyüklükte ve her yıl az da olsa sürgün verir.

AGRONOMICAL CHARACTERS:
A productive variety that enters into production early. This variety is considered rustic with good resistance to frosts and with high adaptability to different climates and soils (including poor ones). Susceptible to black scale (Saissetia oleae), peacock spot (Cycloconium oleaginum).
OIL CONTENT:
The yield in oil is good (20 - 22%), of excellent quality with good organoleptic characteristics but often associated with low poliphenols content.
HARVEST TIME:
Harvest occurs in mid season (the second half of November), but not all at once.
OTHER CHARACTERS:
A variety that adapts well to dense planting because of its small size, but it is poorly adapted to mechanical harvest by shaker because of the small size of the fruit, the pendant shape of the tree and the strong attachment of the fruit.
